Privacy policy
This policy explains what data the Field Training app collects, why, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Field Training iOS app, Android app and web app at play.fieldtraining.app, and to this website.

Who we are
Field Training ("we", "us") makes the Field Training app for coaches to plan drills and training sessions. We are responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@fieldtraining.app.
What we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work. We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
- Account details: your email address and, if you set one, your password (stored hashed by our authentication provider, never readable by us). Used to create your account and sign you in, including with one-time sign-in links sent by email.
- Profile: the display name you choose. Other members of clubs you join can see it.
- Content you create: drills (with their steps and animations), training sessions, and clubs you create or join, including club names, join codes, members and their roles, and the drills and sessions shared with a club.
- Club logos: if you add a logo to a club, the image you pick from your photo library is uploaded and shown to the club's members.
- Preferences: app settings such as date and time format.
- Technical data: when your device talks to our servers, our hosting providers process your IP address, device and browser type, and request times in their logs, to deliver the service and keep it secure. We don't use this to identify or profile you.
What stays on your device
- The app keeps a copy of your drills, sessions and clubs on your device so it works offline, and syncs changes when you're back online.
- Photos: the app asks for photo library access only when you choose a club logo or save an exported drill GIF to your photos. It doesn't read or upload any other photos.
- Drill GIFs you export and share go wherever you send them (chats, email, social media). Those services handle them under their own policies.
How we use your data
- To provide the app: sign you in, store and sync your drills and sessions across your devices, and run clubs and sharing.
- To send you account emails, such as sign-in links and replies to support requests. We don't send marketing email.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To comply with the law.
We rely on performing our contract with you (providing the app you signed up for) and our legitimate interest in keeping it secure. We don't sell your data and don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent personal data. We share it only with:
- Other users, as you choose: members of a club can see your display name and role in that club, and the drills, sessions and logo shared with it.
- Service providers that run the app for us: our backend, database, authentication and file-storage provider (Supabase), our web hosting and content delivery provider (Cloudflare), and the email provider that delivers sign-in emails. They process data only on our instructions and to provide their service to us.
- App stores: Apple and Google handle app downloads and updates under their own privacy policies.
- Authorities: if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or us.
- A successor: if Field Training is merged or sold, your data may move to the new owner, still covered by this policy.
Our providers may store and process data in countries other than yours. Where the law requires it, these transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, it's removed from our live database straight away and from our provider's encrypted backups within 30 days. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting providers. The details are on Delete your account.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our providers. Database access rules make sure you can only read your own data and data shared with clubs you belong to. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
- See and edit: you can view and change your drills, sessions, clubs, display name and preferences in the app.
- Delete: you can delete your account and its data in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account, or by email. See Delete your account.
- Other rights: depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California law), you can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to restrict or object to its use, or to move it to another service. Email support@fieldtraining.app and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Field Training is made for coaches and isn't directed at children. You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age for digital consent where you live, if higher) to create an account. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
